A historic documentary spotlighting the unknown
19th-Century heroine, Mary Ann Brown Patten. At age
19 and pregnant, Patten took command of one of the era's
most famous clipper ships after her husband, the original
captain, fell into a coma. She soon became a national
celebrity and was lauded for her heroic efforts. In
cooperation with The National Portrait Gallery in Washington,
DC, we were the first to film the recently discovered
(and only known) portrait of Mary Ann Brown Patten.
